IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a safe, non-invasive treatment that uses a broad spectrum of light to effectively address a variety of skin concerns.

The treatment works by delivering controlled bursts of light energy, which convert to heat to target specific structures within the skin.

IPL targets haemoglobin, the red pigment in blood vessels, making it highly effective for reducing redness, flushing, and treating visible imperfections like broken veins and spider veins.

In addition to addressing redness, IPL also targets excess melanin, the pigment responsible for freckles, sun spots, and damage. By breaking down these pigments, IPL helps create a more even skin tone.

Beyond correcting vessels and pigment, IPL stimulates collagen production, improving skin texture and elasticity. With a series of treatments, your skin will feel softer, smoother, and appear more youthful, with a naturally radiant, airbrushed glow.

You will firstly be invited for a Skin consultation & Analysis where we will discuss your suitability, skin concerns and area of treatment.

Once we are happy to go ahead, answering any questions you may have, a patch test will be completed during this appointment.

You can then begin your first treatment one week from here.

During your appointment/s, you will receive a cleanse of the area, protective eye goggles and thorough cooling ensuring your comfort throughout.

Following safe cooling of your skin, appropriate serums, moisturiser and SPF will be applied.

Aftercare instructions will be provided to ensure healthy, happy skin!

Most clients find the treatment mild to moderate in sensation.

There will be some warmth in the skin for effective treatment, however this is managed and cooled where appropriate.

I liken the feeling to a quick, hot flick of the skin.

Following the treatment, your skin may feel warm for some hours. Occasionally swelling in more sensitive areas can occur and will usually reduce within 48 hours.

Areas treated for pigment will initially darken (which is a good response!) and will appear like ‘coffee grains’. Over the next 2-3 weeks this pigment sheds off with your natural skin cell cycle leaving you with brighter, more even skin.

Most clients achieve excellent results, but the exact number of treatments required varies. While an estimate can be provided, the timeline for visible results is difficult to predict until the treatment process begins.
